We are all called for meaning, for purpose, for connection. If anything we felt that calling even more in this past year while we were home more often. I believe it is in our home where the meaning, purpose, and connection are cultivated and grow. This is why I want to welcome you to Lykke Haven; an interior design company focusing on creating spaces that matter. Spaces that are filled with a meaningful mission, are intentional in the design of the interior, and cultivate a connection that forever grows.
First off, I would like to introduce myself.
Hi! I’m Becky and I am so glad you are here! I have loved interior design ever since I was 8 years old. Planning and re-arranging my bedroom is a favorite past-time, and I may be slightly obsessed with touring homes. However, have you ever finally finished a room, stepped back to admire its beauty, and felt like something was still missing, but you weren't sure what? I have!
I have realized that you can create beautiful rooms, but they will lack that extra something, that breath of life you were hoping for, if there is no intention and meaning within the space to create a connection to the room. But how do you create that connection? That is what I hope to inspire through the curated designs of Lykke Haven. So, come on in to my happy place and learn how to create yours!
How to create connection to your space
In order to create connection between you and your room, it has to serve a bigger purpose than just you. I help curate this purpose through alignment with a non-profit. We work together to understand if there is a non-profit that you are already passionate about or if we need to explore some options to see where you feel a connection. Then we bring that non-profit's story into your room through design elements such as a coffee table book, specialized accessory, crafted bath products, unique piece of art, or handcrafted fabric – there are endless possibilities. It is through this element that the non-profit's mission and story are carried forward and gives the room its first breath of life!
I was actually at a friend’s house when this missing connection to beautiful rooms hit me. We were discussing a chapter of the Bible and they opened this big coffee table book they had that explained the Bible chapter in a super easy way to understand through an illustrated summary.
“Oh, my goodness, where did you get that awesome book?!”
They proceeded to tell me about the Bible Project and all that they do to further the message of the Bible in an easy-to-understand way. So, what did I do? Of course, I went to the Bible Project’s website, learned more, and have since purchased their book. My friend used her home to further the mission of the Bible Project and now I feel a breath of life in my own living room every time I see that book on our coffee table waiting for my family to dive in to understand another chapter of the Bible or to even tell the story of their mission to another visiting friend.
Why it matters
I want you to experience interior design differently. I want you to feel how I feel every time I enter my living room. I want you to feel a breath of life in your home. It isn’t just a roof to protect you from the outside world, it is a home that is meant for purpose, meant for life. I would love to meet you, to hear your story, and to curate the breath your home needs!
